Comcast ($CMCSA) has officially established long-term agreements to distribute Warner Bros Discovery ($WBD) content to its Xfinity subscribers in the United States, as well as to Sky customers in the UK and Ireland, as confirmed by the companies in a joint statement on Monday. This strategic partnership ensures that Warner Bros Discovery channels—such as TNT, CNN, TBS, Food Network, and Discovery—will continue to be available for Xfinity TV customers.

Furthermore, the agreement allows for the continued carriage of HBO and broadens Comcast's rights to bundle the ad-supported versions of Max and Discovery+ in its streaming packages. On Monday, shares of Comcast experienced a notable decline of 10%, whereas Warner Bros' shares saw a rise of 1.9%. Greg Rigdon, president of content acquisition at Comcast, stated, "We extended our partnership with Warner Bros.

Discovery to distribute its networks and expanded our ability to deliver its premium streaming content, including Max and Discovery+, in a way that provides more choice and flexibility to all of our customers as the video ecosystem continues to evolve." He emphasized that this agreement underlines "the value and appeal of our linear portfolio for audiences in the US," while pointing out that Sky UK is an "ideal partner" in the UK and Ireland, especially with the upcoming launch of Max in those regions in early 2026.

As part of this collaboration, Warner Bros Discovery television and movies will also be accessible to Sky UK and NOW customers through a new long-term partnership in the UK and Ireland, which will include a non-exclusive ad-supported Max app upon its launch. Andrew Georgiou, president of Warner Bros UK and Ireland, remarked, "Arriving in early 2026, the market-wide launch of Max in the UK & Ireland is a significant step in our global roll-out."
