On Tuesday, broad-market exchange-traded funds IWM and IVV experienced gains, while actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) rose by 1.3%. This upward trend in US equity indexes coincided with an increase in government bond yields as investors absorbed mixed services data amidst in-booth polling. In the energy sector, iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) increased by 0.7%, and Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) gained 0.6%.

Meanwhile, the technology sector saw notable increases with Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising by 1.3%. Both iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) also climbed, indicating a robust performance. SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) added 1.3%, and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) was up by 1.1%.

In financial markets, Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) rose by 0.8%, with Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) surging 2.4%. However, its bearish counterpart, Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ), saw a decline of 2.5%. The commodities market displayed a mixed performance; crude oil prices increased by 0.7%, while the United States Oil Fund (USO) rose by 0.3%.

In contrast, natural gas prices fell by 2.5%, with the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) dipping 3.7%. Gold made a modest advance of 0.2% on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) also gained 0.2%. Silver prices increased by 0.5%, while iShares Silver Trust (SLV) saw a rise of 0.6%. Consumer sectors reflected positive trends as well.

The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) was up by 0.5%, with both Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) showing promising increases. The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) edged higher by 1.8%, with retail fund VanEck Vectors Retail ETF (RTH) rising by 0.6% and SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) gaining 0.9%.

In the health care sector, Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) rose by 0.6%, with both iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) trending higher. iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB) gained 0.8%, indicating robust health care performance. Additionally, the industrial sector saw an uptick with Select Sector SPDR-Industrial (XLI) climbing by 1.5%.
